You won't find a course called "Smart Marriages®" – but ALL the courses listed below will help you get smarter about your marriage or relationship. What is it like to attend a class? The skills work for couples at ANY stage – dating, engaged, newlywed, cohabiting, remarried, or on the brink of divorce. (You can take a class and dramatically improve your odds of success. And, it turns out an old dog can learn new tricks – you can fall back in love even when your love is on the rocks.)
• Most courses listed are for any couples at any stage.
• Some are specialized for premarital preparation, stepfamilies, empty nesters, new parents, sexual issues, Spanish speaking, African Americans, Christians, singles, etc. See the special interest categories below.
• If you don't find a class near you, visit the Headquarters offices - they list classes across the country on their websites. Or, visit the websites of community marriage initiatives. Or, try a "learn at a distance" program.
• There are a variety of programs in both faith-based and secular (non-religious) formats.
• Search in Training programs - if you'd like to become a marriage or family instructor. For requirements and info.
• If you can't get to a class, try the Learn-at-a-Distance options - DVDs, phone-coaching, etc. for learning the skills as a couple OR for learning how to teach the classes, become an instructor.
